I am not a fan of Halloween, but I think we should celebrate October 31st. The reason is on October 31st 1517, Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the church door at Wittenberg. By doing so, it changed the course of human history and the church forever. It set in motion the Protestant Reformation. Out of the Reformation came the Five Solas. It was an answer to the Catholic Church on salvation. Sola means “Alone.” They are Sola Scriptura (By Scripture Alone), Sola Fide ( By Faith Alone), Sola Gratia (By Grace Alone), Solus Christus (Christ Alone), Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone). Luther was driven by his study of the Word and “ rightly dividing the word of God.” I would that we all would be like Luther and the men of Berea (Acts 17:11) and search the Holy scriptures. In doing so, we will find it to be our ONLY guide for our lives, in all that we do. This October 31st, I would like to say to you, “Happy Reformation Day!”

Good news! We received our park permit to be able to go to the Sugarlands Visitor Center this Saturday. We will be in the Great Smoky Mountains at a great time of the year. The park estimates that about one million people will pass through the park this month. It is a great privilege to be able to go and share the Gospel, and hand out tracts. Please pray for us and the people who will read and hear the Gospel.
